Rakuten Viber has announced the winners of "Kala Stefana," Viber Dating's first-ever contest in Greece celebrating couples who met on the platform and are now planning their weddings. Athens-based couple Tassos and Mariza were named the grand prize winners, receiving a €25,000 award from Viber CEO Ofir Eyal to fund their dream wedding.
Since launching in Greece on Valentine's Day last year, Viber Dating has seen massive success, surpassing 1 million matches – 70% of which have turned into active conversations. Built as a private and intuitive space to encourage real chemistry, the app takes a different approach from typical dating apps, where superficial matches come easy but conversations people actually want to continue are much harder to spark.
